Hotel Transilvania
  • Architecture – eclectic
  • Built – 1903-1904
  • Architect – Guttman József
HOTEL „TRANSILVANIA”, the former Hotel „PANONIA” , located in Ferdinand Square, between the Astoria and the Central Savings House Palace, it was built according to the plans of Oradea architect Guttman József. The construction of the two wings was undertaken in the years 1903 and 1904. The style of the building is eclectic, with powerful Secession influences. The friezes and stuccos, the frames and the hardware blend together in a complementary and aesthetically pleasing whole. The building benefited from a recent rehabilitation of the facades, a process which revitalized its original artistic charm.
